You should challenge that Stephen, it should be covered under warranty as the AC is by default always on and a necessary component for battery management. Seals shouldn't be breaking down that early on - I had a 2005 206 that has its first and only AC failure at 13 years old! My partner's 207 AC has only just gone too - his car is a 2013.

Thanks for your reply Anne, it's good to hear your 2016 ZOE is still going well! Mine has the 41kWh battery, so double the range of yours - I had the traction battery SOH checked last year and it was 96%, which is amazing for a 2018 ZOE! The problem happened again, and has just been diagnosed as the dreaded A/C compressor fault, but it should be covered by the Extended Warranty I have on the ZOE. To get the best range, I have Michelin e-Primacy EV tyres set at 40psi, we drive in Eco mode the majority of the time, with heating set to Auto; and always try to keep on the green line (zero consumption/regen), which is the equivalent of coasting. On hills I always ease off before getting to the top and allow the momentum to maintain speed and generally avoid over acceleration and then braking/regen, as although regen is amazing on the ZOE (it can charge up so much all the way back from the Renault dealer as it's all pretty much steep downhill, that it replaces the outgoing journey usage!) it still has losses. PS my battery is still leased too, worth it for my milage and situation 👍🏻

Mine definitely used to get 205 miles out of a full charge in summer, I checked against the odometer and milage on Google maps… mine has also suddenly dropped; I wonder if there’s a common cause? 🤔. I keep my Z0E in a heated garage!

@EV Nick ahh sorry Nick, I didn’t explain very well - I activated the free subs when I bought the car last September, so they have been active all throughout having these issues ☺️ A good point though!

Test result from last night: charges scheduled at 20:00 for 22:00 - 22:30 and 08:00-09:00; 22:00-22:30 worked fine; car left plugged in but morning charge didn’t happen. ProjectEV engineer on his way now so will ask him to check if there are any power saving settings etc that need adjusting, as it appears to be the charger that is not waking up when ZOE does! ETA: Charges were all scheduled in-car.

Aargh, my test didn‘t work 😞 I think it’s the chargepoint as the ZOE said ‘ongoing checks’ but didn’t seem to authenticate the connection with the chargepoint. I will try one last test, leaving it plugged in overnight and setting a charge for tonight and then the morning, to see if it is anything to do with only being anle to have one charge period per day on the car scheduler. Then ProjectEV should have enough info to check their bloomin charger haha!

@David Parr your reviews/reports are greatly appreciated - especially in an area where EVs are still few and far between! I was so pleased to see another ZOE owner had been in the area ☺️ I actually met a really local (same town) fellow ZOE owner 😱 in Tescos the other month, passed on all the info I had gleaned from the other online groups etc which they were grateful for - if I see them again I will give them the details of this club! Hi Jon, thanks for the advice - yes I tried both, but I can’t remember if I tried a repeat charge using solely the car, so I’m trying it now to test it out ☺️ I successfully charged a second time this morning, but it was set only 30 mins after I stopped the previous charge so I’m testing for a longer downtime interval to see if the charger is going on standby/sleep. It‘s possibly the app that caused the issues last time, it’s a bit hit and miss 🤔

Thanks for the suggestion Nick, I was lucky that the previous owner hadn’t activated their free 3 years for ZE Connect and ZE Interactive, so I got them instead 😁 👍🏻 I did ask at the time how much they would be on renewal, and was told it was a minimal price (a few quid a year I think) but I will try asking nicely again when the time comes!

Hello David, I recognise your user name from your reports on ZapMap etc, as you have used a lot of the chargers in N Yorks that we tend to use too! It does seem with ZOEs almost as if some production runs are more fussy than others, as the 22kW Hubsta you’ve reported as having issues with in the past has only given us the ‘red light of condescension‘ once, and after doing the ‘golden handshake’ (6 min reset) it worked fine. We use it a lot, too. Until we get solar at home, that is 😁
