Hi Found (by accident) what is causing the "Select Neutral" issue. Its a software issue. If the driver's door is not fully shut (on 1st position) it generates this error message. Fully closing the door cancels the error. Strange with the passenger door it gives a message about the door not being properly closed. Dave

Hi That's interesting. If you have a 12V battery that's loosing its charge then even when not in use the traction battery will continually keep charging the 12V battery. That's another possible source for the traction battery to loose its charge. In fact any issue with the 12V system lights left on etc will slowly discharge the traction battery. I assume the heat pump for the heating system runs on the 12V system? Dave

Hi Right now its -6C and my Zoe is covered in frost. However there are two circles about 3" diameter frost free on the windscreen. Something is generating enough heat to keep this frost free. Over a period of time that may account for battery drain. I thought that all auxilary devices ran of the 12V system and when running the traction battery charged the 12V battery. Will the traction battery keep the 12V battery charged when the vehicle is not being used? Dave

What was the temperture while it was left unused? Weather has been pretty cold of late. E.V. batteries do loose capacity in very cold conditions but even so loosing 12kwh in 10 days does seem extreme. Dave

Hi I run my Granny Charger on a dedicated 13A spur initially installed for a 3KW storage radiator (now removed) This spur is wired directly to a dedicated econonmy 7 tariff consumer unit giving 7 hours overnight then switching off. On a 13A setting (actually nearer 12A) it puts about 32% into the battery over 7 hours. I have checked the wiring and 13A plug/socket and they don't get warm but I gather some cheap 13A sockets can't actually handle 13A and get hot. If I charge everytime the battery gets slightly below 50% then an overnight charge brings it up to 80% - 85% which seems ideal. Regards Dave

Hi I got mine in May on Ebay. FNRIDS brand. Seller does not seem to be selling them anymore. I paid about £166 then. There is one exactly the same for auction (unused but box has been opened) just now still at about £30 but I would think it would go a lot higher. Having a variable output means you can charge at a low rate for longer. Its been very wet here, though I have not gone through any deep floods there has been a lot of surface water lying on the roads and I am hope that it might just be that water has got in somewhere and will dry out. It lets you vary the charge 6A, 8A, 10A and 13A. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/374582122592 Its quite handy to be able to vary the charge rate but they are more expensive than fixed rate chargers. I charge on an economy 7 tariff and leave it on all night sometimes at a reduced rate if I just want a small "top up" I have only had it a few weeks - so far its worked perfectly.

Hi I have one of the above and it only has rear parking sensors. Also the Rapid Charge seems to have been an extra as well as mine was sold as a Rapid Charge variant but only has a blanking piece where the Rpaid Charge socket should be. Open the charge flap, if the lower part of the charge port does not open then it does not have Rapid Charge. In 2021 a lot of what appeared to be standard fittings seem to have actually been "extras". Dave

Hi Don't see any problems with that. An overnight charge will easily replace 60 miles from the battery. I don't think Renault supply a "Granny Charger" as standard any more. It might now be an extra? I did not get one with my Zoe. I bought a variable rate of charge model. 6A, 8A, 10A and 13A. Usually run at at the 10A setting but on 13A nothing gets hot. I have an Ecconomy 7 tariff so I only charge for 7 hours at 11p/Unit and I only need to charge once a week. One 88 mile run/week plus normal 4/5 miles on other days. Dave

Hi Following on from my last post regarding buying a Zoe from a dealer, advertised as the Rapid Charge variant only to find after a few days what I thought was the Rapid Charge Port was in fact just a blanking piece. I am currently in "discussion" (to put it politely!) with the dealer regarding a partial refund. Does anyone one know what the price difference in 2021 was between the Rapid Charge and Standard Charge variants? A figure of about £850 was once mentioned. I am asking for a refund of the price difference, depreciated by 2 years. Regards David

Yes it perfectly safe. When you plug in and before the charge starts your car "negotiates" with the charger as to what rate of charge your car can accept and the charge point reduces the charge to suit.

Hi Thanks for all the advice. It has + + on the lower flap so does not have CSS charging but was sold as having Rapid Charging. It charges fine at 22KW Does anyone know if 43KW charging was an option in 2021? Non of the charge stations in my area offer 43KW charging. I paid for an HPI check on the car but there is no mention of the charging options. I could live with 22KW charging OK but on my receipt it definitely says Rapid Charging. Can anyone suggest what the difference in price is for a 2 year old Zoe between rapid and 22KW charging? Since it does not have Rapid Charging I am going to ask for a partial refund but want to start off with a reasonable request and want to have all the facts correct before I ask them. Regards Dave

Hi I have just bought a 2021 ZOE Spec is Derivative 100kW i Iconic R135 50kWh Rapid Charge 5dr Auto Now I thought when I bought it Rapid Charge = CCS charge. It had what looked like a CCS port but when I went to open the port it turns out that the top part is a normal Type 2 port and the bottom part is a blanking off piece with the (dreaded) + + sign. Have I been "done" or could Rapid Charge mean 43KW AC charging? There are no 43 KW chargers near me. Just 22KW Type 2 and CCS chargers. Any advice would be appreciated. Regards Dave
