That's probably converting American CCS to European CCS.

CAdeMO and Tesla's own connector both support both AC and DC charging. So it's possible to make adaptors that pass through the DC. The only CCS-to-CHAdeMO adaptors that I have heard of come from China. they contain a small computer programmed to fool the CCS charger into thinking that it's talking to a CCS-compatible car.

I have never heard of such a thing. CCS uses high voltage DC (around 480V) for charging, while Type 2 is for normal AC at around 240V. They are fundamentally incompatible. Any adaptor would have to include a high power inverter (maybe 22kW 3-phase) to convert the DC back to AC. It would end up being a big box of electrinics.

In Eco mode, my Zoe will only do about 65 on a flat road. Maybe 70 downhill. And it will take a long time to get there. I always turn it off when I hit the open road.

Eco mode does greatly reduce the power available and limits the top speed to abour 65 on a level road. Turn it off, and the car goes much faster. The button should be in the row of buttons under the touch screen.

It sounds like a TT installation, where the only house earth is an earth rod in the ground. The earth resistance can be quite high. It relies on an RCD to protect you if there's a live-earth fault, because it's unlikely that a fuse will blow or a circuit breaker will trip.
